About Southern Hills

Southern Hills Baptist Church is a member of the Southern
Baptist Convention.
Mission Statement
Southern Hills Baptist Church exists for the purpose of:
- Magnifying Jesus Christ through worship, the Word, fellowship and
- Moving believers in Jesus Christ toward maturity, ministry, membership in His Church and
- Making Jesus Christ known to our neighbors and the nations.
Identity Statement
Southern Hills Baptist Church is a family of people who has been
forgiven by the grace of God and thereby restored to a right fellowship with
their God and Creator. This relationship has been established by our
individual acceptance of and commitment to a loving, caring, maturing work in
progress as we strive to be led by our Lord and Savior. We are striving
with a Godly desire to know Him intimately and to become all that He wants us to
be individually and corporately.
A Bible Preaching and Teaching Church
We are committed to the expository teaching of the Word of God from our
pulpit. The Bible is also the focal point of instruction and training for
our Sunday school classes, groups and activities.
A Praying Church
We believe that prayer is a priority in all phases of our church
ministries. Therefore, the Wednesday night prayer meeting is centered
around prayer.
A Musical Church
We believe it is honoring to the Lord to express our joy and worship
the Lord by music. Therefore, we endeavor to emphasize music as an
integral part of our services and give individuals and groups ample opportunity
to use their musical abilities.
A Family Church
We strive always to be a friendly church that welcomes everyone into
our family atmosphere. We desire to have a balanced program of excellence
for every age group so the spiritual needs of your entire family will be met. On
Wednesday, while Bolivar schools are in session, the Awana Program operates a
“Family Friendly Wednesday Night Service”
with programs for all age groups.
Following the meal we have programs for all age groups.
